The Scaling Readiness Development Team – henceforth referred to as Scaling Readiness which abides by the policies and terms of use of the CGIAR (www.cgiar.org) – manages this website and uses cookies in your interaction as user in this website.
Scaling Readiness is an approach that supports scaling of innovations and was developed as an integral part of the CGIAR Research Program on Roots, Tubers and Bananas (RTB) that is supported by CGIAR Fund Donors. The development of Scaling Readiness was led by Wageningen University and the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) in close collaboration with the International Potato Centre (CIP), Bioversity International and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT).
Access and use to this site as well as to its content, such as: materials, data and any other type of information shall be governed by these Terms of Use. Thus, by accessing and using this Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use as well to any national and international law that may apply to their access and use.
Scaling Readiness hereby reserves the right to modify these Terms of Use at its discretion at any time, such modifications being effective when posted.
1. Access to content
By accessing this site you may access content including but not limited to materials, data, images, documents, database, software, video recordings, audio recordings and any other type of information either (i) developed and made available by Scaling Readiness (RTB Content) (ii) made available by people who may include staff of or personnel associated with CGIAR Research Programs, CGIAR Platforms and other CGIAR Centers (“Contributed Content”), or (iii) belonging to or originated by third parties, made available through the Platform site through links or by citation or aggregation (“Third Party Content”)
2. Permitted Use
Access and use to this site and its content is provided in accordance to the CGIAR Principles on the Management of Intellectual Assets available at https://www.cgiar.org/resources/cgiar-intellectual-asset-management/ and the CGIAR Open Access Policy available at (https://www.cgiar.org/resources/open-access/).
2.1 Scaling Readiness Content
Scaling Readiness Site and Content are made available by the Creative Commons Attribution NonCommercial License 4.0 International (CC-BY-NC 4.0). Thus, you may download, copy, reproduce, republish, modify, build upon, post, broadcast, transmit, distribute, make available to the public and use Scaling Readiness Content provided that:
- You give appropriate credit to the work and any identified source as provided in the corresponding citation, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
- Your use is for non-commercial, research, educational, or personal purposes, and
- You, in turn, license such Materials under the same conditions. Full terms of the license are available at this link https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/. Should you wish to deviate from these conditions, please contact Scaling Readiness to obtain prior authorization.
2.2 Contributed Content
As a contributor of Contributed Content you shall have the right to make such a contribution. If Contributed Materials are owned by a third party, you must make sure that you have the rights to confer upon Scaling Readiness the license hereby specified. As a contributor you agree to grant Scaling Readiness, and its successors, and assigns a royalty free, sublicensable, perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, and transferable license to use, copy, modify, perform, publish and disseminate the Contributed Content in the Site and through derivative works. Contributors warrant that the Contributed Materials do not infringe the rights of any third party, including copyrights, privacy protection, informed consent and/or biodiversity-related access and benefit-sharing rights. In case of doubt, a contributor shall refrain from providing Contributed Content to the Site or if already contributed, withdraw such Contributed Content. In case of false or misleading information or negligence, the contributor shall defend, indemnify, and hold Scaling Readiness harmless from any resulting claims, damages or costs (including reasonable attorney fees).
Scaling Readiness may, at its sole discretion, remove your Contributed Content if it establishes that it violates these Terms of Use. Acceptance of Contributed Content does not constitute an endorsement or sponsorship of the Contributed Content by Scaling Readiness.
2.3 Third Party Content
Use and Access to Third Party Content is governed by the terms of use applicable and contained in corresponding third party websites from which such Third Party Content originates. Scaling Readiness is not responsible and has no control over Third Party Content, thus Scaling Readiness makes no warranties or representations about the content, information, products, or services offered by third parties. Unless otherwise expressly stated, no sponsorship or endorsement by Scaling Readiness is therefore hereby implied.
3. Prohibited Use
By accessing and using this Site and its Content, you agree not to use them for any unlawful, illegal, fraudulent or harmful purpose and activity or in any way that would violate Scaling Readiness and third-party rights, including but not limited to intellectual property rights.
Any action that causes, or may cause, damage to the Site or disability of the performance, availability or accessibility of the Site and its Content is prohibited.
You agree not use the Scaling Readiness or other partners logos without our prior written authorization.

5. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold the Scaling Readiness, its employees, officers, trustees and affiliates, harmless from any claims, losses, or damages, including legal fees, resulting from your use of this Site, its Content and violation of these Terms of Use, and to fully cooperate in the Scaling Readiness’ defense against any such claims.
6. Governing Law
These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with recognized principles of international law, to the exclusion of any single national system of law. You and Scaling Readiness agree to make every effort to settle amicably any dispute, controversy or claim that may arise out of or relating to this Site. Should an amicable resolution may not be reachable within sixty (60) days of such dispute, the dispute shall be finally settled under the Rules of Arbitration of United Nations Commission on International Chamber of Commerce Trade Law (UNCITRAL) by one or more arbitrators appointed in accordance with the said Rules.
